It’s that time! Time for your boots to see the sunlight! With this cool weather coming to the south we can start wearing our boots!!! There are so many different kinds of boots and and so many ways to wear them! There are flat boots, heeled boots, suede boots, leather boots, fur boots, over-the-knee boots, and ankle boots, just to name a few!

Starting off with flat boots… Flat boots are great to wear on a causal day. They are easy to walk in and they are so stylish. I like to wear mine with my skinny jeans tucked in. You could also wear them with a cute dress to add instant style. This fall rugged boots are everywhere!

High heeled boots- you can wear with EVERYTHING! You can tuck your skinny jeans in to them, wear them with skirts or dresses, and wear them with your bootcut jeans! What is in style now is a round toe with a chunky heel.

Ankle boots… Ankle boots can be flat or heeled! They are a huge trend for fall and can be worn with just about everything. You can wear them with skinny jeans, dresses, skirts, and even shorts.

Over-the-Knee boots… Over-the-Knee boots are also a huge trend for fall. These can also be flat or heeled. These boots look gerat over skinny jeans or with leggings. For a sexier look wear them with a dress to show of a little leg!

Embellished boots… You will see embellished boots everywhere! Buckles, sequins, bows, ruffles, and chains!

Most people believe that you can only wear sequins for a fancy evening event. Not true anymore! Sequins have transitioned into daytime wear! If you know me at all then you know that I would wear sequins from head to toe everyday if I could! Though sequins have crossed into daily wear, you can’t wear them the same way you would on a recital stage or on the red carpet, although most of us wish we could! For daytime it has to be toned down!

When wearing sequins during the day, make the sequins the focal point of the outfit. You don’t need to over accessorize, just keep everything else simple. Also, make sure that only one article of clothing is sequins. You don’t want to wear a sequin top with sequin pants and then throw on a sequin vest, ONE PIECE AT A TIME!

If you are trying to be very casual then pair your sequin piece with things that are overly casual. Example: If you have a sequin tank, pair it with some torn up, loose fitting jeans and a simple cardigan.  If you have a sequin skirt, pair it with a plain white t-shirt and some simple flats.

Some of you may not be ready for a full sequined piece! You can always start small. So many tops and dress right now are embellished with sequins. This makes it really easy to throw on an embellished top with some jeans and you are out the door looking great!

My next few posts will most likely be inspired by my new favorite book… Lauren Conrad Style! I know lame, but I love it!! She has the perfect mix of glam and laid back casual! So forget all about her drama on Laguna Beach and The Hills and let’s focus on the drama of her fashion!!

Chapter Two of her book is called The All American Uniform: Jeans and T-shirts. Most women, if you are like me, HATE shopping for jeans! So I decided to key in on these tips that can help you find the right pair for your body!

Pocket placement is important when looking for jeans. Smaller pockets on the butt make it look bigger and pockets that are too close together will make it look wider. You want to choose pockets that are standard in size. now if you are lacking the derriere area, a pocket with a flap or embellishment will help fill the tush. If God gave you plenty of filling back there, stick with a classic clean pocket. Also, cargo pockets on the sides can add curve to a slim leg, so if thighs are your trouble area, stay away!

Different washes of denim can be flattering on some body types. A classic dark wash is best for curves while a lighter wash is good for a smaller leg. Also be careful of distressing. It is okay to go with the trends of rips and tears in the jean, just make sure that they are placed on the jeans in a flattering way!

Skinny jeans, despite the name, can be worn by all women. They are great to pair with slouchy tops as well as structured tops. You can wear them with heels, flats, and even flip flops. You can dress them up or down.

So if you know me, I am obsessed with nail polish! I will never have a bare fingernail, whether its bright corals for summer or dark purples for winter, I love them all! Some people are apprehensive about the newest trends in nail polish and stick to the classic pinks or reds. I am here to break you out of your nail polish shell!!

The trends this fall are a a few great colors such as dark teal, dark purple, grey and always a great option dark red!

In southwest Louisiana, some employers may not understand the chicness of the dark colors.  You can always go with nude shades and still be equally trendy. Soft pink and beiges are great for a conservative office.

Some great options for a great nude/soft pink are Candy Darling by NARS, Going Nude, Eh? from Sephora by OPI, and my FAVORITE Samoan Sand from OPI!

So, one of my MANY fall obessions is Harem pants!! We have a great pair here in the store and I just love them! They really look good on everyone despite that famous line “I can’t pull that off!” YES you can! You can dress them up or dress them down! Here are a few options!
